I guess the consensus is Chris Houston over Aaron Ross?

    10. Honestly, does it matter at this point? One of the Top 9 will be there.

If we pass on Peterson to take him I'll be furious. Heh.

This is a fairly silly exercise. If you're going to try to construct a board, you have to start with #1. Once you get past a certain point, and in this year's draft that point is about ten picks before ours, nobody really knows what's going to happen until it does. No matter how well you think you have it figured how things will play out, you have to understand how much of what you think you know is merely the product of inbred reasoning among draftniks.

The Colts pick last in the first round. Their board starts at #1.

The Seahawks don't have a first round pick. Their board starts at #1, too.

Your boards start with Justin Blalock. Something is amiss.

It's pointless to argue whether the Jets should rank Peterson over Calvin Johnson since both will be gone by the time we pick. The 10 picks requested are the ones likely to be available to the Jets at #25. Houston may or may not be there. Same with Blalock and Bowe. Those are the guys that it's reasonable to debate. Obviously if Landry falls to us we should take him. But that's not realistic.

If everyone gives their list then I'll compile all of the numbers and see what the board's consensus is for pick # 25. So why don't you give us your top 10.

Pretty much the point I was trying to make put much more eloquently.

I happen to think that it's just as obvious that Houston will be gone, but apparently you're the arbiter of who it's reasonable to debate at #25 and who isn't. This is the problem with your approach. No matter how sure you are that Calvin Johnson will be off the board when we pick, there is in fact some nonzero chance, no matter how small, that he'll be there. Tell me, just how far from zero does this chance have to be for a guy to be 'likely to be available' where we pick? Your paradigm also discounts completely the possibility of trading up. Homework sucks, but you have to do it if you want to contribute meaningfully to the discussion, and that means building a board from the top down. If you try to take a shortcut and just ballpark guys based on information from a bunch of cross-plagiarizing mock drafts, your approach is no more likely to yield a realistic result than is the pray for Calvin plan that RJF espouses.

Its beyond me how anyone could pick Blaylock before Revis and Houston.
