How about this, its not sports related, but its good.

(the answer is not a trick answer)

There is a bridge, and there are 4 people who need to cross it in 17 minutes or less.

It takes one person 10 min to cross, another it takes 5 min, another it takes 2 min, and another it takes 1 min.

The most people the bridge can hold at once is 2.

Whenever someone crosses the bridge someone must go back (think of it like this, it is at night and they need a flash light so if the 1 and 10 min person cross, someone must go back to bring the flashlight back).

Also lets say the 1 and the 10 min person go together, the one min person must wait for the 10 min person so it takes them 10 min to cross the bridge.

2 and 1 go across, 1 comes back.
10 and 5 go across, 2 comes back.
    2 and 1 go across.

    How about this:

You're in a house with 2 rooms, in one room there are 3 switches. In the other room there is a light bulb. There is a door connecting the 2 rooms.

One of the switches turns the light bulb in the other room on, you can do what ever you want, you can turn one switch on, then flip another switch.

However you can only go through the door once, and you can't open the door then flip the switch.

So the riddle is, how do you find out which switch turns the light bulb on.

Hint: the house is very small, the ceiling is only 5 and a half feet off the ground.

Just flip one of the switches and wait for an hour. Then flip a second switch and then enter. Feel the bulbs and the one that is really hot was for the switch you used first. The second one is on so that relates to the switch you currently used and the cold bulb goes to the last switch.
