PLENTY Of Offensive Guards Still Available

Only four OG's were selected yesterday. There's still a number of good ones left. Of course, the Jets will need to trade some vets and pick up some 4th or 5th rounders to have a chance at them, but it's not out of the realm of possiblility that one or two might slip to the 6th or 7th round. Also, wouldn't you trade next year's 3rd rounder for a 4th rounder that could end up being Josh Beekman? I would.

Also, I think that GM's saw the money being thrown at OG's in the offseason, wanted to correct the market, and decied to wait 'til the middle rounds to select them. Just my opinion.

Here's just some of the names of OG's still available:

    Allen Barbe, Missouri Southern State
    Herbert Taylor, TCU
    Josh Beekman, Boston College
    Manuel Ramirez, Texas Tech
    Dan Santucci, Notre Dame
    Gabe Hall, Texas Tech
    Mansfield Wrotto, Georgia Tech
    Nathan Bennett, Clemson
    Mike Jones, Iowa
    Cameron Stephenson, Rutgers
    Kasey Studdard, Texas
    Tim Duckworth, Auburn
    Tala Esera, Hawaii
    Corey Davis, James Madison
    Kurt Quarterman, Louisville

Yes, he is. The only four picked yesterday(5, if you include Sears) were Grubbs, Blalock, Yanda and Alleman.

I'm really starting to wonder if the Jets are planning something big on the offensive line.

We have the exact same group as last year and there are even rumors surfacing that Kendall is on the trade block. We haven't improved the offensive trenches whatsoever.

Could a trade for Faneca be in the works?

I doubt it but it really makes you think.

keep in mind that with Kendall soon to retire, we need a swing guy who can play center. A guy like Doug Datish would be a good pick (former teammate of Mangold, who could play guard and back up Mangold if hurt). Another guy is Dan Mozes, but I am not sure if he is just a pure center.
