Please stop whining. The preseason means nothing!

With respect to all posters, it's our passion that makes us the greatest fans in the NFL, but some of you are very irrational and have a short term memory. Please don't make assumptions until after week 1. If we are to truly judge the NFL teams by preseason play, the Bengals would have won the Superbowl against the Giants. The Pats, Colts, Chargers, Ravens and Bears would not have been playing in January. The Raiders would have had the 28th pick of the 2007 Draft. No AFCE team would make the playoffs. The Redskins and Lions... well... they still would have been a bottom 5 team, but you get where I'm going with this.

    Code:
    2006 Preseason Stats:

Yea, we look like a playoff team in terms of the always-definitive preseason.

No one is complaining about our preseason record... Do you think the Raiders won all those games because their #1s dominated early, or do you think maybe they scored some points in mop up duty?

We're talking here about how our starters looked, something preseason records hold no jurisdiction over.

Nobody is talking about the record, we are talking about how the players look.

Who gives a rats ass about the records. If our O line and D line look like crap in the preseason chances are they will look like crap in the regular season as well.

Guys, mangini has made a point to show nothing. The defense has been vanilla as vanilla can be. You cannot judge the D at all. The O has had problems protecting Chad and opening holes. Part of this can also be attributed to the vanilla line schemes but I do think our line will be somewhat of a problem for us. I don't think the Jets did enough to address this position in the offseason; in fact they did nothing and I wouldn't say this was a strength unit last year. This is a pretty poor job by tannenbaum.

Yes indeed. Funny how this board has the kid gloves on for the Tangini regime.

They've earned some leeway for getting 10-6 out of a team that wasn't very talent-laden. I also feel that they've been very competent during trade negotiations, drafting for the most part, and getting players to buy into their system. The team they inherited really had a lot of holes to fill. And you have to admit, it's nice to have management who are respected among the league and the fans, for a change..

That's because this year is complete speculation. The only results so far are 10-6 and the playoffs. Not bad for the first year.

Yeah but if the last guy(who should remain unmentioned despite his "not bad" record) had ignored such a blight he'd have gotten killed. This was a big mistake which has gone unscathed. Bad job.
