Thread: Jets are 4 - 5 plays from 3 - 1

    Jets are 4 - 5 plays from 3 - 1

McCareins makes 1 of 2 catches in Baltimore

Jets use the momentum to beat the Ravens in OT

Nugent hits the 37 yarder in Buffalo

Chad gets the ball out of bounds . . . Nugent kicks the game winner

How different would Jets Nation be at the moment?

Nugent was going to make a 55 yarder?

thats more than 1-2 plays. we would have to win in OT in both games but their lack of scoring is holding them back

Understood. That is why the thread says 4 to 5 plays.

The point being . . . are they really that far from 3 - 1?

Maybe so, but I think maybe not.

I think you can crack that one last year, but this year I'm not sure what you are trying to say. He's got the leg for it now

If my Uncle had a vag he'd be my Aunt.

If I had picked #6 instead of #4 I would have hit the lotto and won $10 million instead of a lousy $800 bucks a few years ago.

If Peyton had come out a year early we'd have 3-4 rings and Bellicheat would probably be our coach.

If the Falcons hadn't traded up one spot ahead of us we would have gotten Favre instead of Nagle.

If my dad wasn't so cheap and had bought a real rubber instead of the 25 cent one from teh mensroom I wouldn't be here right now.

Lots of "ifs", "ifs" don't matter.

So being close when rebuilding (which this team is still doing) is the same as being extremely far off?

Losing is losing. How you lost doesn't count in the standings.

The vast majority of teams in the NFL are close. There are very few teams who are heads and tails above the rest or head and tails below the rest. Those 4-5 plays are what put you over the top and each team can identify them. The same can be said for our record last year. We were 4-5 plays away from being a 7-9 team instead of 10-6. (Example - take Leon Washington's run out of the Miami game, we most likely lose and don't make the playoffs).

Thus, it doesn't matter if the team is close or far off, the only thing that matters is the team is not getting it done. Period. End of story.

If he hits the FG before halftime, Buffalo would have never went for that TD on 4th down in the 4th quarter when the score is 10-10.

    We're also 4-5 plays away from 0-4.

    What's your point?

    Dems the breaks.

That is why the NFL is king of sports, the difference between a 6-10 and a 10-6 team is really a few key plays.

Just trying to shed a little positivity on a tough season so far.

It's not positivity, it's revisionist history. If we were really a 3-1 team maybe we make that FG, or make that key catch, or make that key 3rd down stop, or maybe our QB makes the right read, etc.

I'm in no mood to be positive about this team. I like my misery, despair and feelings of helplessness.

Now go be cheery somewhere else!

The Pats are 4-5 plays from being an even "awesomer" 4-0!
