I've got mixed feelings on this one, UT. I know he's good, but Faneca is just too old for my taste, and what's more, he looks like he's lost a step this season. I'd rather go with a 2nd-tier FA at guard (think Justin Smiley) and spend the rest on Stacy Andrews or Terrell Suggs (or, God willing, both). I'd be very please if we brought in Gay and Hackett though.

I do like your draft with the exception of 2a and 3. I'm really down on Crable; I think he's got great measurables but zero discipline. He runs himself out of a lot of plays and I think the plays he does make are almost by accident--i.e., he just happens to be in the right spot at the right time. He's also undersized for 3-4 OLB. Although he's looked lost at OLB, Quentin Groves would be great value there and he has a much higher upside, IMO.

Frankly, I'm not really pleased with any of the OLB candidates in this draft. Crable is too undisciplined, Gholston is maxed out, Groves has looked lost at OLB, Ellis is solid but unspectacular, and Harvey is a reach top-5. If I were Tannenbaum, I would put all my energy into signing Terrell Suggs if he becomes available. He's only 25 and he's an absolute stud--remember, his '03 DROY season came as a 3-4 OLB.

I also can't see us picking a TE round 3, especially if Balmer or Langford are staring us in the face. I know we need more playmakers on offense--and Rucker certainly has the size and hands--but we need beef on the DL even more. Can't pass up one of those two guys, even if we have to reach for them a bit at 2b.

UT did I miss something? What about DRob? You don't have him starting and you didn't cut or trade him.

I like everything but Shawn Crable and taking a TE with our 3rd pick.

Im all about Faneca now....I dont think we wait on a RT for the draft though.

We fill dire needs in FA...Not in the draft.

    Love the hackett signing...

Faneca's going to be commanding an awful lot of money and we haven't exactly shown so far that we go after the high priority Free Agents so far. I think Faneca has some good years in the tank, and it definitely upgrades our line with more than a stopgap, but he's not a long-term solution in my eyes.

What about Max Starks? He's an average player, better then what we have and is younger and cheaper.

    Arrow

Don't you think we can get more for Chad than a 5th? I think we got a 5th AND C.J.Mosley for Brooks. If he does get traded I see something like a 3rd or 4th this year and a conditional pick next year. QB's are just worth more.

Mr.Money hungry makes big bucks and will want to restructure upon trade for another signing bonus..

Like it or not, his salary demands will be a detriment..

? Where did you hear it was a 5th rounder. All i can find is that it was an undisclosed draft pick.

I know what hes going to command--7yrs, 49m with probably 23m in the first 3 years that parts easy.

Lets say we go after stacy Andrews(Which we have all predicted since day one) That makes the majority of our line young guys with big potential.

We need a guy thats going to lead them, give the line a nasty streak, and challenge them, and get all we can from the line. Faneca is havign another great season and will be very good for another 3-4 years.

Im not sure how vocal Larry Allen is, but I think we need a leader on the line.

    Re-sign Vic? No thanks

Ratliff is not better than D-Rob.

Otah > Crable and I still don't think he lasts that long.
