Any decent CB to be FA

the raiders are thinking of putting the franchise tag on Asomugha, he is the one player I really think the jets should think of signing to pair with Revis, but considering what the raiders are thinking of doing are there any other decent CB's on the market?

Randall Gay, Nnamdi or Samuel. Nnamdi probably will get the FT so that's not an options and Samuel is going to be looking for Nate Clements money so that's not an option. Gay all the way.

You know, while you can never have enough pass D,
This is a pretty strong area for us.

    We need LINEMEN..

    O-LINE & D-LINE!!!!!!!

    He'll be good depth.

The Jets like this guy a lot. They were very interested in him from before.

We really need another corner, Dyson seems to be in the doghouse, Poteat is solid at nickel, but isn't really starter quality. Miller is still too raw to rely upon. If we want to compete with the Pats we need to cover their WR's.

Florence, Gay, Samuel, Asmougha, Trufant get one of these guys.

it's true we need DLine but if you have good corners to match one-on-one with WR's then you can be more creative with the DL and LB's

Revis is the only shutdown corner we have right now, Dyson, Poteat, and Barrett don't scare SH** out of any QB or WR. case in point Croyle to Webb just this past sunday.

Samuel will be a Jet. It will cost a lot but look at it this way:

Samuel, Rhodes, Elam, Revis....secondary set for at least 4 years.

With all the needs this team currently has the last thing on the list right now is signing a CB. The absolute last thing. If anything we can look at one in the draft maybe in the middle rounds.

CB isnt the biggest need but its plain stupid to say we have no worries there. Other than Revis and Poteat on occasion we are slim.

A good pass rush makes an average secondary look great. We already have 2 very promising players in our secondary in the form of Rhodes and Revis. They should allow us to spend money elsewhere. I'm not against picking up a moderately priced corner in FA but guys like Samuel and Asomugha we need to stay away from. The 9ers went out and signed Clements and where did that get them?

Blast, needs are one thing Glaring needs are another. Our focus right now is not going to be at the CB Position. If something falls in our lap thats fine but signing a guy like Samuel is probably not going to happen. If were going to sign a big name Free Agent it had better be a NT or 2 O-Lineman . We have the possibility of signing 2 to 3 solid football players high up in the free agent market they have to be O-Lineman and a NT if they are not then Mangini will have failed again this offseason and will not be the coach of this football team after next year. Solid Lines are what makes teams good. When it comes to GREAT teams theres no Question they have Solid Lines.

And, conversely, great corners make an average pass rush look great. Another good corner for us will make our rush D that much better. We really need a good corner and a good pass rusher.

    I agree

If we're going to target one premium free agent I'd much rather go after a guy like Haynesworth, Suggs, or Faneca.

Revis and Rhodes are both young studs and Elam has the makings of a solid SS. All we need is a solid #2 CB like Randall Gay. He fits the system and has previous ties to Mangini.

The Jets should be looking to spend big on the O-line and front seven, not the secondary (Rhodes extension aside).

If there is an opportunity to get a quality starting CB, they should go for it, in either FA, trade, or draft. Revis is solid as one starter, and we have enough depth, but we don't have a second good starter. Though there are other needs, there's nothing wrong with building a good secondary, as opposed to an adequate secondary. Another legit starter at CB would help the team a lot, as would an upgrade at safety, replacing the Coleman/Elam/ E. Smith revolving door next to Rhodes with a good player.

That said, we may have to try to do this with the draft. I think Samuel will cost too much, Asomugha will be franchised, and there are only a few other available starting CBs.

    Thru Draft/FA we need:

    1.Two OL Beasts = RT-LG
    2.Pass Rush Demon
    3.Run Stuffer Mountain Man
    4.Tall-Speedy WR
    5.Another pass catching TE
6.One dimensional 250 lb FB who can fall forward for 1 or 2 yds.
    7. Another CB

    That's All Folks!
