Kellen should supplant Thomas Jones, he was a much better back last season. The numbers don't lie.

Is there really a need to compare a 31-year old, twice shoulder-repaired, unathletic, "took us as far as he ever can" QB with a 24-year old, unproven, athletic, strong-armed, "potential is untapped" QB?

    I think not.

I dont think thats really a big deal. Its not like hes Mike Vick back there. The much more nteresting consideration is comparing the Thomas Jones numbers with and without Chad and deciding whether thats because teams played more in coverage because they were afraid of Clemens arm or because they knew Jones cant beat them for a big gainer and that they had no respect for Clemens converting on a 3rd and 2 or 3 type situation.

It is a very big deal when you have a QB that can extend drives with his legs (when it's necessary) Clemens can clearly do that, Chad clearly can not.

Or even a serviceable middle of the pack QB.

Even that would make him superior to Noodle.

To get semi-off-topic, the biggest deal is clearly listed in JETS_for_life's sig.

A better analysis would be how the rbs performed with each QB under center. Did TJ fare worse with 8 men in the box not fearing the deep pass under a noodle armed QB?

Dont forget Clemens led those drives under pressure EVERY down.

Howmany balls were battted down cause the kid was being rushed and the line backers were in his face?

Clemens in '08. Give the kid a shot

And no noodle for you Mangini.... you're supposed to be on a diet!

It's Clemens job to lose, the numbers that matter, speak for themselves.

    Chan,

Didnít you or someone else take this a step further and post how the productivity, yards, and yards per carry of our RBs went up once The Noodle was out from behind center also and the defense actually had to guard the 2nd and 3rd levels of the field?

yea...It's funny, if you look from when Kellen took over officially to the end of the year (minus the NE and TN games where it went back to garbage under Chad), the team was actually like #7 in the league in YPC and #4 in yards per game Or in other words, a productive running team..

(the pass blocking was just retched)

Something you might not notice in the QB comparison between Manning and Garrard

Player Att. Yds. Avg. TD. Fumbles
    Peyton Manning 20 -5 -.3 3 6
    David Garrard 49 185 3.8 1 4

    * - This is not to be misconstrued in any way to say that I think Chad is better than Clemens or Manning or that I think Garrard is better than Manning. I am simply illustrating the idiocracy of comparing stupid stats to prove your obviously biased agenda.

We know that you think Clemens is better than Chad. This view is shared by many reasonable people on this site.
Please go back to declaring Sione Pouha the next coming of Joe Klecko.

In all fairness, Chad has never been a dasher, but im sure the ankle/ knee crushing he suffered week 1 took away what mobility he DID have.
