Some culinary highlights from today -
Pizza Rustica, Tortellini in brodo, loin of pork.
Yes, happy easter to one and all.
I have to say though, Easter on a diet sucks incredibly.
I can't have sugars (besides ones naturally occurring in whole grain foods) and I can't have loads of "white carbs."
I went to an Easter Brunch with 10 members of my family. I ended up eating a truckload of scrambled eggs and bacon and a piece of whole grain toast. Which gets really, really old after a while.
I passed up every single waffle, pancake, crepe, dessert, piece of chocolate, fried EVERYTHING...
The smell of the waffles they were making in the waffle iron drove me absolutely nuts.
I can't complain - I've lost exactly 68 pounds NET, after gaining some muscle. But Easter brunch royally sucks on a (heavily) modified Atkins diet. And sugar free chocolate is definitely NOT CHOCOLATE.
But anyway, Buona Pasqua
