    Rutgers Pro Day Thread

    Snippets from Rutgers pro day

Just a few notes from Rutgers' pro day to follow. As it pertains to the Giants, they had two scouts here today but no coaches. (How you read into that is up to you.) GM Jerry Reese was at LSU's pro day today. The Jets also had two people in attendance -- one of which was former GM Terry Bradway.

As for the draft hopefuls, here's some info (though the official numbers aren't out yet):

*RB Ray Rice was supposed to do only the vertical leap today, but his competitive nature got the best of him and he jumped into a few drills, though he didn't run the 40. His vert was 39" -- up seven inches from his combine number. Actually, Rice wasn't the only one whose combine vert was way low. Apparently, there was an issue with how they measured it in Indy (don't ask me how; I have no idea. I just know everybody was about six inches off what they thought they could do), so most guys are re-doing their verts at their pro days.

*OL Jeremy Zuttah only did positional drills and the vert (31" after he jumped 27" at the combine) and was forced to pull out early when he tweaked his lower back. Zuttah said his back has been sore for about a week. Dolphins TE coach George DeLeone ran the O Line drills.

*OL Mike Fladell measured 6-6.4 and weighed in at 320 pounds. He had 25 reps on the bench, an 8-foot broad jump, a 5.2 40-yard dash, a 4.9 shuttle and a 7.83 three-cone.

*DB Ron Girault ran a 40 somewhere in the 4.4s. He also had a 10.8 broad jump, 25 on the bench, a 40" vertical and a 4.2 shuttle.

*WR James Townsend's 40-yard dashes were timed in the mid-4.4s by one scout.

*DT Eric Foster had the most reps on the bench with 29. Foster visited the Colts last week and has a visit set up with the Seahawks, according to his agent.

Foster posted a 32.5 vert then pulled his hamstring during his first forty which ended his day...

Good to hear Girault running a great time. He now has a shot of getting taken in the draft.

I so want to sign foster as a priority FA and plug him into the middle next to Harris.

    I think he'd rock.
