    Malcolm Kelly Runs 4.68

    http://www.nfl.com/draft/story?id=09...o&confirm=true

So he goes out runs a 4.68 then blames OU cause they said he was gonna run on a different surface. Basically comes off very arrogant and whiney blaming the medical staff for a misdiagnoses of his injury, blames OU for the track situation and how they are messing with him and his family by doing so. Always suspected that all this injury BS is to cover up how slow he really is but now i really have no doubts about that theory. Regardless I still think hes a top 5 WR prospect and should go before rd 3, but all these accusations bring up some character concerns for me at least. I like what ive seen from him on film and looks like hes got some talent but a 4.68??? kind of brings up some Mike Williams reminders even Dwayne Jarrett to a lesser scale. Anyway my WR rankings fall as follows

Sweed (Most pro ready IMO and least risk)
    D. Thomas (most potential)
DeSean Jackson (speed, agility, but size is a big concern)
Kelly/Hardy (Can they seperate in the NFL?)
Manningham (Lacks Size, inconsistant hands, Slow 40 times but Hes fast on film, Does he even care about football??)

Scouts Inc. still has Kelly as the #1 WR and the 16th ranked prospect

At 6'6 hardy will bring plenty to the NFL . Its the short field where I see the Jets continuing to have problems . We get inside the 20 and bog down. We need some big guys to make us an actual threat and keep defenses honest. I think hardy will be around in rd 2 sweed may go in round one but I would not waste a late first rounder on sweed if we trade out of the 6th slot.

So if we trade out of the 6th slot and get a late first and an early second round pick (plus some more potentially) I would use one of those picks we would have in Rd 2 on Hardy

yea I agree with you about hardy. He may never become a pro bowl caliber player but he would be deadly on fade routes in the corner. Im personally a huge fan of Devin Thomas. I think he has pro bowl talent written all over him. Kind of like a poor mans Andre Johnson. Sweed reminds me a bit of Amani Toomer.

Jordy Nelson looks PERFeCT for the slot. Tough SOB as well does not have Big NFL speed But neither did Chrebet and Keyshawn and our 98 team was pretty deadly

Are all these guys mid/late 1st to 2nd rounders? Seems like there's no Top 10 or 15 wideout in this draft but a ton of guys after that. My fear is that with no 3rd round pick the Jets will be watching most of these guys come off the board unless they use their #36 on WR.

EDIT: More reason to trade down a little in Round 1 and pick up someone's 2nd or 3rd.

well actually he's tall and fast and suited for the outside. much faster than chrebet......but oh wait he's white so they must be the same player right?

    Love those two.

Don't forget Doucet from LSU or Bennett from Vanderbilt. Both should be solid #2 WR in the pros.

And speedster Dexter Jackson from Appalachian State in the mid rounds.

Manningham is way down the boards now with his poor Combine and failed drug tests.

Kelly would be off my board for his childish outburst. A character red flag. Don't need that **** on my team.

Doucet would make a great slot receiver.

I think Doucet would start at slot for the Jets on game 1.
