    Musa Smith vs Jesse Chatman

    Who wins the battle for the third RB spot?

    I'm saying Smith. He's shown flashes with limited carries and has prototypical powerback size (6'0 235). Not to mention he's an ace special teamer. I could definitely see him as the goaline/short yardage runner we've lacked since Houston suddenly retired.

    I watched Chatman a lot down here in Miami and I respectfully disagree. He played well last year filling in, I liked his potential. Not sure about his ST play, so Smith might have him there, either way we have some nice depth.

    Agreed. Chatman looked solid playing for a team that had virtually no passing attack. He is tough to take down and actually has some decent speed. I think he is a perfect short yardage compliment to Jones/Washington.

    Musa stays on the team for special teams and depth. He can play FB too.

    i think musa smith is competing for the backup fullback role tht stacy tutt had last year

    I dont think Chatman ever really was going to be our 3rd back on the team. I think the competition is not Caulcrick versus Smith.

    Jets may carry five or six backs, Caulcrick as the fullback behind Richardson, but so long as he doesn't fumble we'll use this 6' 0"/255 Pound moose to carry the football in SY/GL situations

    I don't know if that makes him the #3 RB, not if you mean which player slides in for TJ or Leon if one should go down, in that case its more likely Chatman or Musa, but barring injuries I'm betting Caulcrick not only makes this teams, but he'll get more carries than either of them as well, he'll be a bigger part of the normal {injury free} rotation, he may have an actual role to play on offense without any injuries

    #1 Running Back - Thomas Jones {Backup - Chatman or Musa}
    #2 RB/Scatback - Leon Washington
    SY/GL Power Back - Jehuu Caulcrick
    Fullback - Tony Richardson

    I don't think anyone is disputing that.

    But which one of these JAG's do you think makes the team?

    I think Chatman takes the role, he didn't get broken by Roy Willie.
