Why in the hell Mangini continues to try and put players in positions in which they are uncomfortable and plays away from their strengths is beyond me

Sure he played, on special teams. Actually his total lack of effort and tackling ability was remarkable on one kickoff coverage where the ball carrier ran right by him, I mean right by him before he stuck out his alligator arms and then stopped running.

Use steroids, have a few good games in college, get a big signing bonus, retire.

    Not a bad business model.

yo, this guy will be great it really might take him a year. Look at Longs kid he aint doin anything either. But relly we are not losing any ground due to Bryan Thomas's play right now, so let him develpoe and we wil have great things to say next year.

You're right in that he gets a mulligan for this season. But the scary thing is that he hasn't flashed at all. Not once, and his playing time is diminishing as he gets more experience instead of increasing meaning the coaching staff has less faith in him than they did. A very ominous sign.

Do we need one of these threads every single week? The guy has been slow to develop and it's more than possible he's a huge bust. Let's just wait until the season is over, then have a big discussion about it...

I like that idea....shut up during the season, he is not just gonna burst out in one game and get 3 sacks. Just not gonna happen. He is not gonna produce this season so stop hoping for it. Call him a bust if u want but stop making a thread every week.

I just dont want to hear the Mario WIlliams comparisons anymore. Williams had 4.5 sacks his roookie year. Gholston will have a certain 0

VG is the least of our worries. Right now you just hope that he can do something in 2009. He's very lucky that Favre was signed to be on this team and I think thats a good thing to where he can hopefully succeed in 2009.

    Long had 2 sacks today.

7 tackles today for Mayo (the Pat's "reach")

Thats because Matt Cassel has the pocket presence of Kellen Clemens

So many have swallowed the Tannenbaum/Mangini Kool-Aid--Heck, didn't you guys listen to the experts---Gholston was a high risk pick because he lacked motivation and was lazy----------

Perhaps Gholston will someday be able to take advantage of a QBs lack of pocket presence. If he gets off special teams.

Thats true, but Maroney is better suited to dancing with the stars and Jackson was a bust. Its a hit and miss business.

7 games into his NFL career. Not really concerned yet.

Huh? Bryan Thomas absolutely sucks, which makes Gholston's lack of development even more troubling. This team's future is in serious trouble.
