Like the move, just hope Law is ready physically after not playing first two months of the season.
Law was unemployed. Ty is a veteran, was looking for another big contract, nobody was interested. Ty may be in the best shape of his life, lack of employment can be a great motivator. I would hope that Law (with a lot of help over the top) could do a number on Welker, but unrealistic. What I think your getting is a replacemant for Smith, a safety on passing downs, subbing for Elam. I have faith in Mangini's judgement, that this guy can still play, and that Mangini can put him in a roll where Law can be successful.

Of course he's in shape - he wouldn't have gotten signed if he wasn't, or if he wasn't close enough to game shape.

The problem is that he's a liability in the same way that Favre is a liability - his mistakes often outweigh his great plays. So now we've got a guy like that on both sides of the ball.. our defense is playing fantastic - i'd be surprised if this guy saw more than 20 snaps a game at safety/dime/nickel. He is hopefully there to mentor the young guys and give em breaths.

Obviously, you don't know Ty Law.

He could give two $hits about "mentoring" younger players.

    Unless it's a contractual obligation.

Talking All's Fair In War and Football.................

This is a very smart move by Tanny & Mangini.

Ty Law knows the all Pats D schemes & will B a HUGE help 2 Sutton and the D boys this Thursday nite. Pick his damn brain until he can't talk anymore & then get him 2 draw stick figures if he has 2 but work his old ass 2 death in the next 48 hours. The way I see it he owes us for that free Hawaiian vacation he got from the Jets 2 years ago when the team went 4-12 as well.

And as for signing him 2 a one year deal, well, we all know how contracts go in the NFL & anyone else think this is nothing more than a last minute, competitive edge over the patsies signing & that Law won't be on the roster after the season is over?

Either way, Good Luck on Thursday nite guys, I'm liking our odds more & more.

It would have been funnier if that picture hadn't already been used 100 times on this messageboard. But then, consider the source. The King of Repetitiveness.

Not for nothing, but I disagree with that statement as it relates to Favre. It's the other way around. His great plays outweigh his mistakes. Your description is better suited for a guy like Michael Vick.

Man, talk about irony, anyone who's been following Jet football the past 2 years knows that Law has been Revis' mentor for quite some time now.
