    OT-Final "Experience"

The last remaining member of the Jimi Hendrix Experience has died. He was rocking right up until age 61. If you had the over, go to the window.

There's a ton of stories about how close Hendrix was with him, stuff like how he'd only record with him in the studio, how he'd always go to Mitchell during live shows...etc.

Great drummer, I have a ton of Hendrix stuff live and I can definitely say that he was one of the more underrated out there. It's hard to make a name for yourself when you've got Jimi playing in front of you.

Drum solo w/jam from Voodoo Child. There's some great bootleg versions of this out there with very good sound quality believe it or not.

Well I know for certain that there were jazz drummers using it in the 50's, but if I had to put money on its first rock appearance I'd go with Baker or Moon. I could be wrong though.

I'm fairly certain the dude from Floyd used one pretty early on too. Where's Warfish when we need him.
