    Raiders new HC??????

They just showed on ESPNnews that one of the candidates for the job is Paul Hackett...and we think it is rough being a JETS fan.

I'd love to see what the Raider fan on this website would say to justify that signing.

It's not like the Raiders are going to get some big name coach. But if I'm Al Davis, I go for Mike Mularkey. His work with Ryan and the Atlanta offense was unbelievable. He might be just the guy to handle Russell.

but Hackett sucks... I guess who ever the raiders head coach is.. if he goes 1-15, that 1 win will always be against the Jets.

    3rd down and 8 + HackettMan = draw play = punt

Actually, I thought Davis would hire Tom Cable as the HC. He did a pretty good job as the interim.

haha! I remember every time the jets were in a 3rd and long, he would call a draw. Good luck with that raider nation!

..Hackett has to be the worst OC in the history of Football.

That would be surprising since they passed on him for Cable earlier in the year. Cable has to earn brownie points for beating the Jets, Shanahan, and Gruden this year. Cables problem is he has done an awful job with the QB, though the QB may also just flat out stink.

2 HC's that got fired, and 1 could be canned at any moment...

That is just BSpn throwing some crap against a wall and seeing if anything sticks. BSpn has no idea who are potential Raider coaching hires. Reason being AL Davis inner circle is very short.( not going to get anything out of that group) JMO Paul Hackett who is already employed by the Raiders. Might get a role Marc TRestman had. An extra eyes upstairs to suggest plays to OC. Also might have a hand in development of Jamarcus Russell. Rich gannon credits paul Hackett for developing him as a QB.

NO Jamarcus Russell play has picked up alot the last three weeks. Cable has used that progress Russell has made, as a reason why he should be given Raiders head coaching job fulltime. Now was that Cable that Russell really started to come on the last three weeks ,or the fact that Mario Henderson replaced Kwame Harris at LT and solidified that left side. Henderson Shutout Richard Seymour and Mario williams. Gaines Adams was a non factor also.

Raiders solidify that oline(the right side- assuming what Henderson did down the stretch was no fluke) It will cure alot of Russell problems and the offense in general.

What the Raiders need is a receiver or receiver(s) plural. They're corps of receivers is horrendous. Your leading receiver last season was f*cking Zach Miller with 778 yards and 1 whopping touchdown. Javon Walker is finished, Higgins is a glorified return man and Ronald Curry is the Oakland version of Brad Smith. Russell struggled last season mainly because he had no one to throw to.

If the Raiders are talking to Paul Hackett that's beyond comical. Seriously, what's the problem? Dick Kotite and Rod Marinelli weren't available?

Hackett's run play designs were fantastic and he did a good job of bringing Pennington along. Obviously, his in-game play-calling was way to conservative though which sealed his fate here but he's not as incompetent as many make him out to be.
