A day after claiming Mike Fladell, the Jets waived the guard after he failed his physical. The announcement was made by Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum.

Fladell, a 6'7", 334-pounder who attended Rutgers University, entered the NFL when he was signed to the Giants practice squad on Dec. 3, 2008, as an undrafted rookie free agent. The Howard Beach, N.Y., native was subsequently waived on June 24.

Fladell played left guard for the Scarlet Knights from 2003-07, starting his last two seasons.

sounds like a Pedro Sosa situation....

    addition:

was told minutes ago when I asked what happened to Fladell, "it's a correctable situation and he should get a chance to pass the physical again"....

when asked what the problem was got the obligatory "can't comment"......

    The Sanchez doubters were right.

All this trading down for a franchise QB is going to hurt our 3rd string depth at OG.

    Damn you Mark Sanchez.

Who is going to back up Robert Turner in 2012?

Your forgetting about depth at defensive end as well. We had to trade Kenyon Coleman to get a better looking version of a player we already had. So we lost a chance to get a starting receiver and get depth on both lines.

Oh no, we traded kenyon coleman! What are we to do? Will we be able to replace one JAG for another JAG?

The scary thing is Marques Douglas is actually an upgrade over Coleman.

I agree though. Crying that we traded Kenyon Coleman for a potential franchise QB is insane. Even if Sanchez is a Ryan Leaf-style bust, we didn't give up much to get him.

So if it's correctable then it has to be something simple (weight possibly).

The guy is 6'7"m - 334. Clearly big but not bizarre. There are much bigger. Correctable means a torn something or a thyroid problem or diabetes? No lost sleep.

All of this of course as opposed to Burress whose problems may turn out to be correctional.
