Gotta figure its for Izzo, Renkart already got the axe, the only other player I can see would be Drew Coleman who is horrendous!

Nice signing though, 6'3 250 good size played well early on an lost his job when steroid allegations arose to Stephen Tulloch in Tenn.

It says that FB Davis was released (maybe) to make room for him.

it's about time Jets fans got it through their head that Larry Izzo isn't going anywhere in 2009... he might get hurt and go on IR but he's not under any circumstances getting cut.

Apparently Woodhead cleared waivers last night as well, so he is on his way to be added to our PS sometime today or tomorrow.

Oh, surprised that nobody wanted him for their 53 man roster.

One June 9, 2008, it was announced that Fowler is under investigation in connection with an apparent steroids case involving NFL steroid dealer David Jacobs.

Maybe they cut one of the 36 DBs they have on the roster.

the best kept secret in 2009 Jet-land:

    danny woodhead's not good.

not really a surprise that he didn't get picked up, not a surprise if he doesn't end up on the Jets p-squad. he looked great against future grocery baggers and ups deliverymen. against the ravens 2nd team he looked slow.

Correct. Same crap different year. A bunch of people get excited about a guy who does well against future truck drivers and think he's amazing. They all also claimed that Woodhead would get picked up for sure and that there was no way the team could cut him.

Well the rest of the league sees that the guy just doesn't have pro upside.

Why? He's been cut once this season, is old as dirt, has been unimpressive, despite Rex talking him up I see no real use for him.

Yeah, he sure looked slow when he blazed a 4.38 in the 40 yard dash.

Fowler is an interesting pick up. He was cut from TN on account of having a very high salary - not solely because he didn't have the skills.

He signed with the Titans as a special teams specialist as well as a backup LB...he played his way into the starting lineup, but lost his job to Stephen Tulloch halfway through the year. He was getting the snaps with the 1s this camp while Tulloch was injured. He went back to the 2s when Tulloch came back and with a week or so to go in camp, was replaced by a rookie both on STs and with the 2s.

He'll probably play STs and be in short yardage packages. Being that Trusnik didn't make too many big plays in pre-season, he may be the guy to go when Pace comes back.

to be fair it's not only the fans to blame

the beat writers were shovelling this garbage too. "It would be surprising" they said if he cleared waivers.

well not only did he clear waivers, the Jets don't want him back for the taxi squad.

for those who disagree, let me know when Danny Woodhead gains NFL yard #1.

Damn, the NFL is a cruel business.

He sounded enthusiastic to be a Jet. Oh well.
