Acme Oyster House is the best place of all IMO

make sure you sit up at the shucking bar where the shuckers just put the oysters right on the counter without plates for your dining pleasure

I lived in that place. Enjoy, Pete. Make sure you make time for a debris sandwich at Mother's, one of the massive muffulettas at Central Grocery, and BBQ'd shrimp (not BBQ'd at all, but done in a saute pan) at Pascal's Manale. I could go on for days.

Soo jealous. You grabbing a burger at Port o' Call? You should.

Breakfast at Cafe Atchafalaya (sp?) also is a must.

Too bad we can't post pictures of those on JI.

Great calls on the debris sandwich...Mother's was awesome.

Also the Muffalettas are incredible...then walk over to Cafe Du Monde for some beignets....then just when you've had enough...go grab yourself a hurricane!

Thanks. Yeah, it's just fruit juice. I posted an image of Cafe Du Monde and the beignets in LimoLady's thread this morning. Take a look if you want to eat your heart out. Chicory coffee and those beignets are what I think about most from New Orleans.

Reading these threads is torturous. I had my first NOLA experience back in May. Don't remember much, but reading the threads is slowly bringing mack memories. So jealous of everyone down there this wknd!!
