The Patriots will have to negotiate their upcoming string of nasty games without defensive end Jarvis Green.

According to a source, the eight-year veteran had knee surgery last week and will be down until at least early December. Green, 30, has started all seven games for the Patriots so far in 2009 but his playing time (23 of 61 defensive snaps against the Bucs in Week 7 according to ESPN's Mike Reiss) and production (18 tackles, no sacks) has been down as he's tried to play through the injury.

The loss of Green is mitigated somewhat by the depth the Pats have built along their defensive line this season. And this week, the Patriots will likely be running with a three-man front against the Dolphins Wildcat attack so Green's absence should hurt a little less. Still, Green's got a track record of playing his best in games of heavy importance and this stretch against the Dolphins, Colts, Jets, Saints and Miami again is as vital it gets this season.
    Tough loss.

After endless hours wasted on this board you have honed your trolling to such high levels that each bait is perfectly executed.

Yes, you have made your trolling an art form.

Which makes you even more of a loser than I ever thought imaginable.

This guy was probably the best backup end in the league and could start on any single team in the NFL. Big loss.

This is like trying to watch Belushi in Continental Divide.

FF2, if you gonna do this, throw in some fancy fonts for impact. OK?

Nice first effort, but you might have it proofed before submitting next time.

How do you think this will affect the Pats ability to stop the wildcat? (Aside from Tom E. Curran's opinion).

Considering that Mayo is really the only above average linebacker they have this is not good for the Pats.
If, & that's a big if, the Fins get the wildcat going, Wilfat will be useless.
He'll run out of steam just like big Jenk did in Miami.

Believe me you do not want to have to count on Seau & Adaleus to catch Ronnie & Ricky.
But, the Pats have a very good experienced coach & knowing that the Fins are without their #1 corner, he will attack on offense from the get go, unlike the Jets & their 5 series & 3 point half they put up against them.

Score points and it takes them out of the wildcat. If Brady converts on 3rd downs, Pats win. If Brady has an off day & the wildcat is moving the ball it could be a long day for that inexperienced Pats back 7.

If anybody thought they missed Seymour before.....things are about to go from bad to worse. Green was a great fill-in over the last couple years.
