Vegas just said Cincy plays no one next week. They have no reason to.

i'd be shocked if Cincy doesnt play balls out, unless they are thinking they'll get a scout on the Jets and rather face the rookie QB in the Playoffs. Makes sense.

but they have a lot of areas the need improvement and not heading into the playoffs strong may be a bad move for them.

Another factor is that we may be playing Cincy for the opportunity to play Cincy the following week. Strange season.

The Bengals or the Patriots. For any Jets fan can there even be a choice?

If we win we get Cincy. Period. Even if NE loses.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure there's no scenario where we would play NE. It's either back-to-back games against Cincy or go home.

There's no way we could be the 6 seed? I know we have the tiebreaker over Denver, but I'd assume there's a way we could be the 6 seed.

If the Bengals don't play their starters, then the Jets will just play Power Football: Run the ball and play Defense.

Then the following week, let the Rook throw. What the hell, they're playing with house money.

No. If the Jets win they are the #5 seed and play Cincinnati in the first round. If they lose, they are out.

usually when a team is giving 9 points the money line is around - 450, which means risking $450 to win every $100.

sounds similar to this weeks Indy-5 line... looks like Vegas knows the Bungals will be resting players. I'll take it... anything can happen in the playoffs!

there is a way we can be 6th seed, but it involves ties and its very unlikely to happen.

So let me get this right . . .

    We lose, we're out.

We win against Cincy, we play them AGAIN the NEXT week @ Cincy?

so it's like Herm's Cherry year in the playoffs against the Raiders in 2001

No we have the tiebreaker vs Denver based on point differential and the tiebreaker vs Baltimore in common games.

Someone mentioned a tie, but in the rare chance we do tie, we are likely to be passed anyway.

    Yeah...

We tie the Bengals, Ravens (or Broncos) win, Broncos (or Ravens) lose, Texans lose, Steelers lose, and we're the six seed. But that's pretty much impossible.

The line dropped to 3 this morning so vegas knew that Manning was going to sit.

    Question

Anyone see an over/under figure on the Jets-Bengals game yet?
