Great news, but not shocking at all. Harris is the Hitman, he'll be playing on Beast Mode today. 15-20+ tackles.

Strickland is inactive? Did he get hurt or something?

He's been hurt last couple weeks. Some leg injury I forget.

He was also out last week, but damn...It's a great feeling having Dwight Lowery back as our Nickel back. Lowery had a really solid game last week.

Quad injury. I like the move of starting Cummings over Fowler. Cummings has played well last year as well as during the preseasons.

Man is Slauson ever going to see the field. Even Gholston has suited up more times than he is.

    I like this set-up.

Obviously, I like Harris being able to go.

    I like Cummings over Fowler.

    I like Clowney being active.

Sucks for Strickland, but at least we have nice depth there.

We need Harris to start and be effective. I'm rooting for him as both a Jets fan and I have the Jets' D in my playoff fantasy league.

    Jets Inactives Today

Is David Harris ready to go? It would seem so. Harris is active and he is also one of head coach Rex Ryan's five game captains today. The other four: LB Bart Scott, RB Thomas Jones, G Alan Faneca and WR/QB/RB Brad Smith.

The Jets' inactives today are QB Kevin O'Connell, CB Donald Strickland, RB Chauncey Washington, LB Ryan Fowler, G Matt Slauson, DE Ropati Pitoitua and LB Marques Murrell. Erik Ainge is the third QB.

For the Bengals, the IAs are RB Larry Johnson, FB Fui Vakapuna, S Tom Nelson, TE Darius Hill, C Jonathan Luigs, WR Jerome Simpson and DT Orien Harris. The third QB is Jordan Palmer.

Bill Leavy is the referee for today's game. This is the 10th Jets game he's refereed at. The most recent two were this year's Game 4 at New Orleans and last year's season finale against Miami. Leavy also presided over the Jets' 20-17 overtime playoff loss at Pittsburgh in early 2005.

Aww yeah baby! Love the fact that David Harris is a captain today. I hope Cedric Benson is a captain as well today so that David can "introduce" himself to Cedric early...

The inactives were just released, and the only Jets surprise is backup ILB Ryan Fowler, who had been mentioned all week as the likely replacement for David Harris. As we reported Wednesday, Harris is dressed and will start. His sprained ankle must be fine because of the Fowler decision. Harris' backup will be the inexperienced Kenwin Cummings.

Fowler did suffer a blow to the head in last week's game, so that may have factored into his scratch.

Here are the Jets' inactives: CB Donald Strickland (no surprise), Erik Ainge (3rd QB), Kevin O'Connell, RB Chauney Washington, G Matt Slauson, DE Ropati Pitoitua and LB Marques Murrell.

The Bengals' inactives: Jordan Palmer (3rd QB), RB Larry Johnson, FB Fui Vakapuna, S Tom Nelson, TE Darius Hill, C Jonathan Luigs, WR Jerome Simpson and DT Orien Harris.
