Santonio Holmes asked to turn off IPOD on flight

PITTSBURGH -- Investigators told Channel 11 News reporter Renee Kaminski that former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Santonio Holmes had to be escorted off a plane Thursday night at Pittsburgh International Airport.
Investigators said it the incident happened shortly after 9 p.m. They said Holmes wasn't arrested but was escorted off the plane for what investigators call being a "disruptive passenger."
No other information has been released at this time.

I'm beginning to wonder if he was even worth the 5th-rounder. At least the gamble didn't cost us much, but hope it doesn't hurt in other areas.

its funny how Jets fans (myself included) looked at these moves. Holmes is a Super Bowl MVP. Cromartie is a pro bowler.

The reality? Holmes is an already suspended headache and Cromartie basically mailed it in for the Chargers' first playoff game.

Yes the price was low - but we are seeing why the price was low.

We don't really know that we can rely on these players for a Super Bowl run. We hope but we don't know.

Holmes for a 5th is a better risk/reward than Gholston for a 1st. That's how I look at it, and it would only be a major concern to me if we didn't have Edwards and Cotchery as our WR1 and WR2.

This experiment could definitely crash and burn but we've used 5th round picks in worse ways over the years. It's a crapshoot with a 5th round rookie and it's a crapshoot with Santonio Holmes for all the reasons we know about.

For every time he gets escorted off a plane he seems to catch 10 TDs so let's wait until the news turns good in Week 5.

Come game day when Holmes plays, our opponent will not be happy having to game plan stopping him, that is the bottom line.

Eh, McKnight keeps dropping balls and already got injured.

These two things are just definitely what I didn't want to read about this morning.

    LOL.

    The Holmes thing is concerning.

But McKnight has cramps in his legs and dropping passes from UDFA QBs is no big thing in April.

Agreed - there is a reason the price was low. Same with Edwards. But, if 2 of the 3 workout, its basically the jackpot for the Jets. Edwards has worked out, at least from a behavioral standpoint thus far. Cro, its obviously too early to say, but his public demeanor has been good so far. From what little we've seen of Holmes, eh - not so great. But, ultimately, its what they do on the field that matters.

Once Holmes comes back from suspension, the guy is playing for a contract. Lets see what happens. I'm just hoping that we can franchise one of the guys that we don't keep and trade them for something of value.
