Who's for a return of Coles?

Jets talking to Laveranues Coles' agent

Manish Mehta of the Newark Star-Ledger reports the Jets have spoken to Laveranues Coles’ agent in the past few days, according to a person familiar with the situation. The person requested anonymity because the conversation between the player and the team has not progressed beyond the preliminary stages and a deal isn't imminent.

Personaly I'm all for it. I know a lot of you guys said he has nothing left, but he was the bungals best receiver in the PO game against us. He scored a TD and had some nice grabs including the one he fumbled. 3 X a charm.

You'd be surprised how getting paid the veterans' minimum can humble a player. If he wants to sign on the dotted line, I have no problem with him being this team's 4th WR.

He can't be stupid enough to think that he'll be seeing any passes beyond week 4 of the regular season though...

Meh, I've always been a fan, but not so sure we need him. I guess they could go with:

    Cotchery
    Braylon
    Holmes
    Coles
    Brad Smith (ST gunner)
    Clowney (ST gunner)

Coles used to be my favorite Jet and if he wants to sign on for the veteran minimum and be the 4th WR, fine by me. I still think he has a little left in the tank.

LC will be a nice fill in place of Holmes and Edwards. He will be a nice receiver in 4 & 5 WR sets.

Not sure I would want him.
He's consistently whined when he was here.
    And he's too concussion prone.
We will need SOMETHING for the first 4 games though.
If he does come here....AGAIN, he better keep his damn mouth shut!

Holmes is out for the 1st 4 games. at a vets minimum he would be a great signing and a solid 3/4 WR, and if Cotch, Holmes, or Braylon get hurt he would be great depth to have

I'm not sure he offers enough to take catches away from our young guys.

    +1

He can see some action in the first four games. Spot duty after that. For short money.

Its not the end of the world but do you think they'd fair better than Coles will?

I mean, he knows he's coming in here to start for four games. ONLY.

    Exactly.

Be about two days before he feels disrespected and looking for a new contract.

No thanks. I'm still pisssed we gave up on Santana for this stiff.

Nobody is going to sign him. Why should we be the suckers.

Why not? Considering we are going to be without Holmes the first 4 games and Clowney isn't exactly mr. reliable as the 3rd WR, I say do it. He knows the system like the back of his hand and will be a good temporary fill-in for Holmes.

I'd rather us sign a guy like Sharper/AD/Henderson than bring Lav back. Smith and McKnight can man the slot for the 1st 4 weeks.
