    James Dearth released by Redskins

I've read Tanner Purdum hasn't been all that accurate with his long snaps, maybe Dearth can come back...

    14. The Redskins also released OL Edwin Williams, S Lendy Holmes and LS James Dearth. Williams looked good early in camp; very strong anchor. But he seems to do better in one-on-one situations than in the game. When the Redskins signed Dearth a couple weeks ago it was assumed he'd beat out Nick Sundberg, who looked very shaky early in camp. But Sundberg has actually snapped well the past three weeks in practice and in games. Dearth's snaps always were high in games. Holmes wasn't a surprise. Just no room for him.

didn't see one bad snap in two days of practice at Cortland nor in three preseason game by Purdum.

no need to bring back Dearth for 5 times the cost. He apparently wasn't even good enough to make the Redskins

Saw this earlier. Maybe Tanny really does know what he's doing after all.

So much for the sky falling on that one.

Hes done a great job until that day. He had a low one and a high one which was concerning to Mike [Westhoff] and me.

    3. Uh, oh, do we have a potential problem at long snapper? Tanner Purdum, a free agent, was cruising along in campuntil Friday, when he misfired on two snaps (one high, one low). Ryan admitted it was "concerning." If Purdum has a hiccup in one of the pre-season games, the Jets might have to consider a change. Did someone say James Dearth. The Jets' former longtime snapper is out of work, looking for a job. Dearth is an unrestricted free agent. Why didn't they re-sign the reliable Dearth?

    And in some other posts....

What was said was that he was small and could be dominated by bigger players. it hasn't happened yet. It makes no sense to sign older players with big salaries. Lets go with youth.

and lets bring back Thomas Jones too when he gets cut by the Chiefs next week.

what we need to do is reassemble the 2009 team in its entirety and make NO CHANGES ever

Feely, Jones, Faneca, Sheppard, Strickland, Murrell, Wright, Rhodes, O'Connell, Izzo, Douglas and Howard Green too....

    CHANGE can not be tolerated
