The Miami Dolphins have signed veteran cornerback Al Harris to a one-year deal, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Harris was waived by the Green Bay Packers on Monday. He cleared waivers on Tuesday and was free to sign with any team.

The 35-year-old Harris is nearly a year removed from his season-ending left knee injury last November. He began this season on the Packers' physically unable to perform list and returned to practice Oct. 19, giving the Packers a three-week timeline to decide his future.

Harris started all 102 games he played in for the Packers over seven seasons (2003-09) after being acquired from Philadelphia. He had 14 interceptions and 108 passes defensed during his time in Green Bay.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

Yup. But signing this over the hill geriatric forced us to cut Jason Allen. If we had to sign the ghost of Joseph Stalin to get rid of Jason Allen, I'd support it.

He had a strong 1st two weeks, IIRC, right? After that, it was more of, well....the real Jason Allen.

Signing Al Harris will really help them score tds

They are last in the AFC in tds scored and 31st in tds scored only behind the Carolina Panthers. Pathetic really.

    Chad Pennington anyone?

Probably not but He is a demon on special teams (the media down here are killing the dolphags because their special teams has been putrid yet they cut their best special team player). Also at least he'll catch the ball if its thrown at him.
