Because defenders are allowed to beat the **** out of any QB not named Manning, Brady, Brees, etc.

I heard the word "bush league" this week concerning comments made by us, well, I ask all those media blowhards what is more bush league than that move by Wilfork? Uncalled for and should have been flagged.

I don't the play was dead yet and Sanchez made himself a target by joining in the scrum.

Because the NFL is and always has been anti-Jets....you didn't get the memo after all these years? i'm still waiting for our 1st round pick for Spygate.

Sorry, I don't buy it. Sanchize was just milling around the scrum when that POS hit him.

First off..there should have been 11 Jets pounding Wilfork afther he did it. 15 yard penalty or not.

Sanchez was meandering over to the scrum, so he wasn't completely out of the play. It was borderline - sometimes it's called, sometimes it isn't. With the size of Wilfork you'd think that he'd get called for that kind of thing, but they let it go.

The defensive PI that wasn't called on one of our safeties against, I think, Crumpler the drive before was a little bit more questionable, but the refs were very good.

The whistle blew three times before WilFat hit him. The Jets will get an apology from the league office.

I don't think the play was whistled dead and he was fair game.

This - the play was live and Sanchez was attempting to push Greene (IIRC) from behind for more yardage.

I also have to add - the hit from Wilfat was a bit wussy. I mean, that size of guy hitting a QB and not even knocking him over (despite Sanchez's best play-acting)?

    Seemed more petulant than anything.

Aye, as obvious a late-hit-on-QB as I saw this year.

My initial reaction was one of surpirise when there was no flag - it certainly looked like a late hit... But when I saw the replay I have to admit it didn't look like it warranted a penalty.

Having said that, I do think that Mangold should've decked him when he stepped to Sanchez's defense.

    +1

Snachez shouldn't be near a pile if the whistle hasn't been blown.

And it was just a shove.
