    Hartsock signs with CAR

    http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/39/ben-hartsock

Panthers agreed to terms with TE Ben Hartsock on a two-year contract.
Hartsock will play the blocking specialist role next to Jeremy Shockey in a run-heavy attack. The Jets were interested in bringing Hartsock back at a lower rate, so they'll have to turn elsewhere for Dustin Keller's partner. Jul 27, 2:24 PM

I thought teams weren't able to sign other team's FAs until friday? What's going on here?

Big mistake. Jets obviously got swept up in the Holmes/Aso hype and took their eyes off the ball.

personally I have never been a fan of Hartsock.

    He's replaceable IMO.

He was absolutely no threat at all to catch the ball. We might as well have had a backup OLineman in his stead as he would have been just as bad a decoy in the event we called a passing play.

Thank God !! seems like the only time you heard his name was after a great play by the Jets that he was called for a penalty.

and not for nothing, i've never forgiven him from 2009 with his horrifically timed penalties that cost us 2 games. i'm not sweating this at all in fact i'm glad he's gone... there are others that can fill his shoes out there no problem.
