Is it wrong to root for the Pats so Ellis gets a ring?

I read an article about Digs and Ellis enjoying their 3rd straight championship game.

    This part got me though....

"Badly. Badly," Ellis said, when asked how much he wants to play for the Lombardi Trophy. "I'm 12 years in. I've worked hard all my years. Been able to get another opportunity, and hopefully close that window and be able to get there. And win it."
I wish the Big Cat well, even if that somehow means I'm rooting for the Pats.

    Just wondering everyone else's take....

How could any Jets fan stomach watching Brady and Belichick holding up the Lombardi for the 4th time?

If the Pats win, then we have to hear the constant bullsh*t of Brady being the greatest QB of all-time and Belichick being the greatest HC of all-time.

    49ers all the way

What? Of course it's wrong.. do what you want, but I personally don't have fond enough memories of Ellis to root for those frontrunners to win another superbowl. Ellis is the remnants of the Herm/Mangini SOJ. His presence reminds me only of a 5 yard curl route from Pennington to Coles that takes 4 seconds in the air to arrive. Nice guy, and would root for him on another team...but not the Patriots.

I have a question? If Ellis comes back and signs a 1 day deal and retires a JET. Then we win the SB does he also get a ring? Technically he'd be part of the team.

    Yes.

If he was playing for any other team, no problem.

    The Pats?

I won't be rooting for the Pats, but if they win the Super Bowl, I'll take solace in the fact that Ellis finally won a ring. He was always one of my favorite players, I'll be glad when he leaves the Pats and I can wear his jersey again.

if ellis won a ring w/ the pats after spending his whole career w/ the jets it would make the pats winning a sb that much worse.

If he comes back to the Jets he will get a ring. He's not going anywhere with the Patsies. Their defense is an embarrassment.

On a board filled with moronic statements and questions, this ranks high.
