Hate to say it but Woodhead is going to be the Tim Smith, David Tyree, Larry Brown of this years superbowl. Mark my words! (Said in a thundering echo voice.)

Did DePalma really end up with the Pats?

He impressed me during training camp.

He is not on the Pats roster, but the Giants Practice squad. There are 3 players from Rutgers on the Pats active roster.

Saw DePalma at Off the Wagon on MacDougal last december. Cool dude. He bought me a shot for knowing who he was and knowing he played on the Jets.

That's all I have to add to this thread.

    I know, right?

Usually when evaluating role-players I say "that guy will never, EVER, play a minor role on a team that will win a conference championship behind the stellar play of superstar players!" I guess I don't know football.

Come on man, those guys aren't dealbreakers. Weatherford would've been a good one to retain, but we replaced Ellis with Wilks, and Dig prolly wouldn't have made much of a difference. I think we miss Lowery more than Dig to be honest.

The team certainly sucked without them.

We should have cut Mason and kept DePalma IMO.

Woodhead getting cut by the Jets and being picked up by the Patsies was the best thing that could have ever happened to him. He wouldn't have ever been utilized to his full potential with the Jets. As much as I hate to say it, he's better off in NE.

It's also a ringing endorsement of Coach Westoff. BB, and I'm sure many other coaches are very aware of just how good a ST coach Mike Westoff is. Every time a player gets immediately picked up by another team after we cut them, it's showing respect for Westoff and what he does. He makes chicken salad out of chicken SH$T on a regular basis.

Should also be mentioned Westy turned the guy we kept as our #3 RB over Woodhead into one of the best kick returners in the NFL and an All-Pro.
