He walked out of mini camp with the Texans and told him he wanted to quit playing football in 2012.

    Didn't he quit UNC too?

Of course it's a low risk move at this point.

@BrianCoz: Jets had a few tryouts. Among them: OL Nick McDonald and Ryan Miller, cBs Brandon Burton and Demarcus Van Dyke, WR Thomas Mayo, per source

You mean this guy is a head case despite his AWESOME self-promoting NYE party?!?!?

I like the call prize to entice the ladies to show up:

6'3" 230 lbs. 1200 rec yards and 12 TDs as a senior at UNC. Must have been a major head case if nobody wants to take a shot at developing him. I say we send him to a shrink.

    Definitely worth a look.

Appears to struggle with understanding the pro game but it seems like he has value in the right scheme ...

Perhaps being out of football for awhile...and staring at a future of probably bagging groceries instead...has humbled Dwight enough to give it a real try to make it in the NFL. It sure does pay better.

Hopefully...Jones did experience an epiphany and had an attitude adjustment. Cause he's a talent the Jets sure could use.

What Dwight Jones needs to realize...is that the Jets have nothing to lose in giving him this opportunity. But that he has a lot to lose if he doesn't give it his best shot.

man, i bet everyone bad mouthing him feels absolutely terrible now. i had no idea about this. i do remember hearing that he quit though. good for him though. football isn't everything and he absolutely made the right choice to be with his son. that sort of experience i can only imagine absolutely humbled him and i can only hope he's here to play.
