A contrite John Abraham admitted this week that he ignored the defensive coaches' shouts to watch out for a Miami bootleg near the goal line last Sunday - only to have Dolphins quarterback Jay Fiedler run one right by him, all right, all the way into the end zone on the same play on which cornerback Donnie Abraham suffered a fractured shoulder trying to tackle Fiedler.

What the hell are you mad at, atleast he's man enuff to admit that he made some mistakes. Players like that only have room for improvement. Don't start talking smack about Abraham, he's prob the best player on the team right now.

Hey. He was wrong, but he stood up and admitted it.

He could have run and hidden, ala Mo the other day.

I think Herm is losing this team!

He was on his way to getting fired until Chad saved his ass! well, Chad isn't saving his ass this year!!!

These players have no faith in Herm's system! It's finally blowing up in his face!!!

    FIRE FAT TEDDY NOW!

i knew someone would somehow make a connection between Abe missing his assignment and the CS

its like they called the play, they warned em during the week and in game that it was coming.. it comes and the player (who is supposed to be the team's best defensive player) doesn't do the right thing, that's Herm's fault? Teddy's fault?

cmon don't be dumb, its not like Teddy and Herm can go out there and make the plays for the guys. <_<

No Bitonti but they can bench them!!! It's nothing but damage control with this nitwit coaching staff!!!

"We prepared all offseason to have a fast start and we had a good training camp, did everything we can do. We're 0-2. Well, what do you do? You got to keep playing. Got to win a game."

If you want to bench Abe, you're way off base.

Start with Mo, who isn't productive anymore.

Benching Mo Lewis will not send a message, IMO. Benching John Abraham for one game WILL WAKE THESE JOKERS UP, PRONTO!

In a 16 game season, when you are already 0-2, you do not send your best defensive player to the bench as a wake-up call to the others. This isn't baseball, where you can do it because of the 162 game season. (See Grady Little last month with Manny Ramirez).

Sorry, doesn't work here. Players are prepared, they must react properly. Abe didn't. He erred, and admits it. What more do you want?

I think we should cut everyone and fire everyone and forfeit all the games that way they will have learned a lesson of respect.

    DISCIPLINE!

    I want to see DISCIPLINE!

It's not in Herman Edwards lexicon, and that's what the problem is! Too many jokers on this team do whatever they want, Herm lets them get away with it, and it affects the morale of the rest of the players! nobody gives a crap on this team! :[img]http://www.jetsinsider.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif'>

Now that will get the point across a lot quicker then benching Abe.

The big question is why didn't he listen to the coaches? Is it a lack of faith that they will put him in position to make the play. Why listen to them when it hasn't been working?

How many on the team suffer a lack of confidence in the CS, on both sides of the ball? If true, good luck the rest of the way.

    Dude Love,

Reach Down. Grab Hold. And Pull your head out of your A$$.

If you were to bench players for a couple of mental errors they make during the game, then you might as well bench the whole team. Hey, that's a great idea. Let's just forfeit the game because we have nobody to play because they are all benched for making mental errors.

    Real good idea.

Watching the Jets the last 3 seasons is like watching "Groundhog Day"-same cr@p, same day. Except the protagonist (think of Edwards as Bill Murray)doesn't learn anything from the experience.

Again, there is probably always infighting and displeasure within any team. But when it gets in the press like this, it's time to start erecting the gallows. Edwards is finished if the inmates feel free to talk like this to the press. It's only gonna get worse. They don't think there's any ACCOUNTABILITY for doing this, no repercussions,NO FEAR, in saying the coach has no clothes. GAME OVER.

We aren't winning a darn thing with this CS. Who ever has that signature about Edwards' winning the Super Bowl as NY Jets HC is making me crazy, because saying that is grounds for involuntary commitment.

Thats a sign of having No discipline on your team.

You guys are taking this too light hearted.

The paper today said that in game 1, Cowart admitted that he was a free agent on the field ignoring his assignment.

Nah... on second though, thats a good thing. forget plays just let everyone run around and have fun. why practice?
