According to Newsday:

Free-Agent Watch. Word is that the Jets will seek a replacement for weak-side LB Sam Cowart through free agency. Their wish list includes Julian Peterson (49ers), Ian Gold (Broncos) and Eric Barton (Raiders). Peterson could be tagged as the 49ers' franchise player, taking him off the market, and Gold missed 10 games this season with a knee injury.

If true, this seems to indicates that they are going to draft some weapons for Chad to improve the offense.

We were 6-10 because we averaged only 17.7 points per game. Yes the defense needs some help but the offense was even more putrid.

49ers will keep JP and jettison TO

this is common knowledge, read the SF newspapers

JP is a stud with no baggage.

They cannot sign both and the emergence of Brandon Lloyd has sealed TO's
    fate,

Makes you wonder how we missed BL and took askew, i'm going to puke now

ahhh afos-I see you have finally seen the ;light.

You were crowing for weeks that The 9ers would Tag Owens and that the Jets shoudl trade Abe for TO. I told you know reason to trade, but you would have none of it.

BTW_I was the one that Lloyd to your attention last week. He was a good pick and one Bradway shoudl have looked at

Didn't Sam Cowart tear his ACL and came back and hasn't been the same.

i saw a highlight real on him on fox and was impressed

his catch vs sea was one of best i have ever seen

This is why terry is the BAdway,

a f'n fullback when we had sowell, the worst possible pick ever

How do you figure that TO and JP will both be able to be tagged this year and fit in the CAP. It is about IMPOSSIBLE. There is NO bonus that can be dispersed and ALL the money hits the cap Immediately.

I dont knwo the 9ers cap[ sit, but that would be a tough blow for ANY team to take.

Boy, Is JP going to be PISSED you transitioned him.

Totally hard to believe that scenario

BTW-With the transition TAG, JP can still sign with any other team, the 9ers just get the right to match.

You still did not tell me how they fit both TAGs on the roster?

Wanna bet that Owens is not Franchised?

afo- read somewhere (can't remember where) that the Pats would give up both their number 1 picks in a trade for Peterson.

Would you pull the trigger on that one?

The afos is working this-All the Pats have to do is walk in with an unmatchable deal. Then the 9ers can't match and you can have him without the picks

not going to happen, pats have colvin and the picks are not high enough

    TO for Abe makes sense

The 49ers want something for TO, if they do not franchise they will
    get crap.

Too late. They will not be able to do a Peerless Price deal. They have other FA's that they need to sign and if they mess around with the cap enough, they can blow all the deals and be without TO or JP. Tooo risky.
