I think the fact that they couldn't get someone like Lynch's calibre for a mere 3yrs/9 million is saying something. Something's up, there's some reason FAs don't want to play for this team.

No. The point is everyone here thinks we offered him nothing, and we are being laughed at by the NFL. Maybe it's true. Hope there's a Plan B, since we do need a Safety

I find it hard to believe we didn't at least match that offer. And if he knew he was going to Denver when he left here yesterday, and didn't say anything to Herm...he is a little girl.

breaking down doors to play with the Legend "Earn while you

who needs a overpaid player past his prime

    Lets see:

Affordable $ 3 mil per year
Short Term 3 yrs (only $2.5 mil SB)

I would say our FO should have gotten this guy.

The only question is if they have another FA in mind or if they will ignore our OL problems to draft a safety on day one.

Well it's seems like the Jets really might trade up now for Taylor, at least I hope so.

This is not Bradway's fault. Clearly, Herm is the one that looks like an idiot in all this. If I ever hear him talk about his friendship w/ John lyynch again, I will puke.

Perhaps if Herm just signs his kid over to Lynch he'll reconsider.

    Herm is freaking useless...

He actually went out of his way to NOT use his personal relationship to secure this player, and now we look like the joke of the NFL.... again.

    REPEAT AFTER ME.

JOHN LYNCH DID NOT WANT TO MOVE HIS FAMILY HERE.

IT HAD NOTHING TOP DO WITH HERM, OUR TEAM OR MONEY.

    IT WAS A FAMILY SITUATION.

I TOLD YOU ALL FROM THE START THAT LYNCH WOULD NOT COME HERE BASED ON HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH HERMAN EDWARDS.

    Lynch Headed To Denver
The Denver Broncos and safety John Lynch have reached an agreement on a three-year, $9 million deal, including a $2.5 million signing bonus, according to John Clayton. The Buccaneers released him with two years remaining on his contract.

Who says Lynch will hold up for three years. The Jets need youth and speed. Lets move on. Lynch was a hell of a football players two years ago, but this is 2004. I don't think the Jets are losers by not getting Lynch. However, the Jets need to become closers in the game and in the offseason.

If you didn't want to spend more than $3 mil for 3 years for Lynch, what kind of package do you think you can offer Washington or Detroit to move up?

Even if you do move up, where will the money come from to sign a top 5 pick?

Jets need to figure out how they can get a 2nd rounder and go after Jones.
