More good news for the Dolphins.............................

    News
Offensive tackle Vernon Carey has not impressed the Dolphins thus far in training camp. The rookie is currently lagging behind John St. Clair as the starter and it looks like he will be the backup, at least for now. "[Carey] has to perform at right tackle. He has to lock it down," offensive line coach Tony Wise told the Miami Herald.

The Fins gave up a fourth round pick in the 2004 draft to move up one spot to snare Carey, who they expected would solidify a questionable offensive line by stepping in at the starting right tackle position. With all of the other uncertainty surrounding the offense in Miami, the team can't afford to have their offensive line be a weak spot once again this year.

he played both...serior year was strictly a tackle....dolhpins drafted him with the hopes of him coming right in to start...they gave up a 4th round pic just to move up 1 slot to draft him....so for a team that need lineman and drafted 1 in the 1st round by him not starting doesn not look good...

    As Dolphinworshipper would say:

Vernon Carey will be fine. He will be the AFC Offensive Rookie of the Year, make the pro bowl, and be Offensive MVP of league as well! He will solidify an already dangerous offensive line which will help us in our gauranteed entrance into the super bowl!

There is just no way that Carey should be playing RT. That is just stupid, IMO. The man is as natural a RG as I have ever seen. Playing him at RT is a disgusting waste and is playing away from his talents, which is to fire out and kill DT's, not chase around DE's. Dolphins suck.

The best part is that the fish spent a 1st and a 4th on a guy that s/b a RG and at best is a RT. What a waste of picks. Sucks for them, great for the Gang Green.

there was no doubt the fish were taking him if he was still there, this was theire biggest need at the time, little did they know they also needed a RB and WR B)
