I believe I'll give Ham his fair shake, unlike others who've turned this thread into a Prediction Bonanza.

I love your Super Bowl pick, but I'm high on Minnesota to come out of the NFC. I don't agree with the Eagles completely missing out on the playoffs, but I think the Redskins will give them a run for their money and end up as one of the wild card teams. Where I disagree with you mostly is on the AFC South. The Jaguars are my pick to shock a lot of people this year. No way they finish last in the AFC South. I have them keeping the Titans out of the postseason, and latching on to a wild card birth.

As for the NFC, I'm calling it now: NO WAY THE RAMS MAKE THE PLAYOFFS. Just too many question marks. Their offensive line is so out of whack that they lured Tom Nutten out of retirement. Their defense just lost one of their best players and the coordinator to boot. I think the Lions will surprise some this year, but they'll have a big run in 2005. Packers/Skins is my pick for the NFC wild card teams.

Right now I would say the Jets are too young ... probably a year away from making a genuine run

However, I believe this is possible for two reasons

1. The is not my fathers NFL or the NFL of my youth ... in today's NFL it doesn't take a juggernaut to win the SB

2. I'm assuming the Jets will gain confidence with a weak early schedule while the youngsters gain experience .. they will grow as the season progresses, both in confidence and experience .. then come playoff time they'll be peaking as a team

Do I feel certain of this? NO

Do I think it's possible? YES ... not in yesterday's NFL, but in today's NFL

This is best case scenario ... they really look like a talented young team that's a year away ... but I'm hoping this year the best case scenario finally shines on the NY Jets

Thanks Troll, but I'm actually glad this turned into the predictions thread ... it was unexpected, but it's a nice touch ... gets everyone invloved

We do this thread every year ... might as well use this one

Well, since unforseen developments occurred since I made my prior predictions a couple months back, here are my new ones.

Asterick indicates wild card team.

AFC East
New England
New York*
Buffalo
Miami

AFC North
Baltimore
Cincinnatti
Cleveland
Pittsburgh

AFC South
Indianapolis
Jacksonville*
Tennessee
Houston

AFC West
Kansas City
Denver
Oakland
San Diego

AFC Championship: Indianapolis over New York

NFC East
Philadelphia
Washington*
Dallas
New York

NFC North
Minnesota
Green Bay*
Detroit
Chicago

NFC South
Carolina
New Orleans
Atlanta
Tampa Bay

NFC West
Seattle
St. Louis
Arizona
San Francisco

NFC Championship: Minnesota over Seattle

Super Bowl XXXIX
Minnesota 27, Indianapolis 24

AFC EAST
1) New England
2) Bills
3) Jets (Could flip flop with the Bills if things broke right)
4) Fish

AFC Central
Ravens
Bengals (Could be playoff team)
Steelers
Browns

AFC South
Colts (Peyton get them to the Super Bowl)
Titans
Texans (Much improved)
Jaguars

AFC West
Denver
K.C
Raiders
Chargers

Jets, Bills and Bengals fight it out for the final wildcard

NFC EAST
1) Eagles (Sooner or later they will get it right)
2) Cowboys (Should be a wild card)
3) Redskins (Much better with Gibbs but not enough to make it)
4) Giants (Whatever)

NFC Central
1) Packers
2) Lions (Should be much improved as the offense gets stronger)
3) Vikings (Last years loss to Arizona carries over. Tice gets fired)
4) Bears

NFC South
1) Panthers
2) Falcons (This depends on Vick staying healthy)
3) Bucs
4) Saints

NFC West
1) Seahawks
2) Rams
3) Niners
4) Cardinals

So my Super Bowl pick will be Indy over Philly
