NEW YORK JETS October 29, 2004 15:46:20 PT

OFFICIAL INJURY REPORT - FRI. 10/29
QUESTIONABLE: OG Brandon Moore (hamstring), LB Sam Cowart (knee), CB Derrick Strait (foot), FS Rashad Washington (foot)
    OUT: LB Jason Glenn (forearm)

    PREVIOUS UPDATES

    OFFENSE
-- WR Santana Moss (hamstring) is still being bothered by a sore hamstring. "He is not full speed yet," head coach Herman Edwards said. "He's probably playing 90 percent. He's probably 90 percent and that's pretty good for us. He is fast enough at 90 percent." Moss had just two receptions for 12 yards in Week 7 against the New England Patriots.
-- OLG Pete Kendall (toe) started Week 7 after missing one game with his broken big right toe. He wore a fiberglass guard to protect the toe and said postgame X-rays were negative. Kendall added that he had not done any additional damage to the toe during the game.
-- OG Brandon Moore (hamstring) did not practice Friday, Oct. 29, and is listed as questionable for Week 8.

    DEFENSE
-- LB Jason Glenn (forearm) is out for Week 8.
-- LB Sam Cowart (knee) practiced Friday, Oct. 29, but he worked with the scout team. However, Jets head coach Herman Edwards said that Cowart was doubtful to play in Week 8.
-- CB Derrick Strait (foot) did not practice Friday, Oct. 29, and is listed as questionable for Week 8.
-- S Rashad Washington (foot) did not practice Friday, Oct. 29, and is listed as questionable for Week 8.

    NOTES AND MISCELLANEOUS UPDATES
-- 10/28 -- S Jon McGraw is back in the mix at safety. McGraw, who has been limited mostly to dime linebacker since coming back from his strained groin in Week 2, is expected to play a good amount in the Jets' base defense. "Yeah, definitely I'm anxious to get back out there," McGraw said. "The first three or four games my conditioning wasn't good enough to play a whole game, so the dime was a good solution for that. I think now with more and more reps, my legs have responded pretty well."

-- 10/25 -- Head coach Herman Edwards expressed some concern following the Week 7 game at the New England Patriots about P Toby Gowin, whose gross average is 37.8 yards per punt which ranks 32nd and last among NFL qualifying punters. "That weather wasn't real conducive up there," Edwards said of the damp, cold New England conditions. "Am I concerned? Can he punt better? Well, yeah, but he's our guy. At times he's made some great kicks, too. We can't forget about the ones he's made." Gowin had net punts of 24 and 30 yards against the Patriots. Part of the problem could be is that Gowin has also handled all but two of the Jets' 28 kickoffs.

How it that a problem? You get paid to kick the ball.

It's not like he's been kicking off 15 times a game, we're not scoring that much. Now, if he's tired because of punting all the time, that I could understand.
