Jordan, an unrestricted free agent, said he would like to re-sign with the Jets "even if it meant sitting on the bench for one more year, which I don't want to do. But - and I'm not trying to sound like a money-hungry player - if they present me with an offer, I could stay."

Well if the FO wants him they can get him. Hey Terry how bout diverting some of the money destine for Abraham to Lamont's pocket ?

I'm glad that he's starting to mature and learning to be patient, as far as getting his turn in the backfield.

Wasn't it earlier this year that he was complaining about his role with the team?

That's what the NFL is all about, waiting to get your chance when the time comes. I understand that it's been four years and that's why I was praising his patience. Nothing else.

He knows that he'll get his turn and it even sounds like he was saying that Martin only has one more good year in him but we won't know that until the time comes.

if i'm not mistaken, last year when martin was hurting he went to herm and said if he needed to start lamont or play him more to help the team it was alright with him.

Sadly Jordan will never know what could have been! He has wasted 4
years as a backup..If I'm him I'm out of here in a flash! Jordan knows
he can start for another Team next year!! Here's the interesting part!
If we get a OC that's not in Love with a 32 yr Old R/B and Lamont does
stay..Let's see how Cumar handles that!! <_<

Would love to keep Lamont. He would be the perfect ultimate replacement to Martin. We should have been giving him 10 to 15 touches per game this year. I know its sacrilege to even suggest it, but he is much more explosive than Martin. Plus would be nice to have a back that could beat up a D like Bettis did to us.

Keep him and give him the ball as much as possible.

Got to see him on Saturday when I was eating breakfast at the Jets hotel, he was sitting 2 tables over from me. He seems like a pretty cool guy and he's a hell of a football player.

Jordan is one of the most no nonsense, team first, hungry player Ive seen in a while.

This is what all football players should be like. He knows when he messes up, lets everyone know the team as a whole(coaching staff included) isnt getting it done.

Jordan called out the team during the season saying it would be "embarassing" if the missed the playoffs.

Sign theis man immediately!

Why is it a sacrilege ?? The name of the Team is the NY Jets not
the NY Martins!! You do what is best for the Team to Win not what's
best to pad one mans stats!! Although you'd never know it here!!

S69, I appreciate the concern that you have for Jordan but if he's isn't worried about that, then why should you. It's a good point that you made but I think he probably thought his situation out and figured it would be better off to stay with the JETS. There could be many reasons why, but we won't know them for sure but can just speculate as to why, like the rest of our fans do.

[SIZE=7][FONT=Impact][FONT=Geneva][COLOR=green]Lamont is wasting away with the Jets. If's he's smart he'll get a big contract somewhere else and get out while he still can. Why does anyone think it will be any different next year even with Hackett gone? It's not about being patient - it's about winning and by keeping him out of the Pittsburgh game, the coaches proved that they were playing mot to lose instead of to wim the game. Why be patient when you have a chance to show how good you are? Four years of almost is just not good enough.

A man by the name of John Abraham should take notes from this guy. Jordan is a class act and an extremely valuable asset to the team, we need to keep him at all costs.

Agree. I am so sick of hearing about how great Martin is. Everyone is on Chad about showing up in big games. dating back to the '98 championship game, don't recall too many big performances by Martin against top shelf D's either.
