OK many of us, including the media and coaches, have accepted D-Rob's 2nd year as a breakthrough.

So how many sacks does this 1st round pick need this year to reach his expected performance level and keep away the naysayers?

None. Ok, well, maybe 1 or 2.

Bottom line is that if he's doing his job he's not going to be getting crazy sack numbers, as a DT if he's getting double (and triple) teams and keeping the head off of Vilma, he's having a great year.

After his near Pro Bowl type performance last year, how can you say that DRob is even close to being a bust? But I must say that I do believe DRob will get at least 6 sacks this upcoming season.

47.5? be realistic... he would never average almost three sacks a game. Now if your talking about 2 sacks per game then you damn well better believe it. so let's say 32

hey.. i'm a firm believer in clogging the gaps being more important than sacks. but at what point does the media and general fanbase jump on him?

    i say less than 5

only if 15 come against the Pats Brady in the 1st game and another 15 against whoever your 2nd string is in the 2nd game because brady still hadn`t recovered from his injuries sufffered in the 1st game.

well he's no longer a bust

but I expect even more next season, more tackles of a loss, more blown up running plays, more FFs, and more sacks

sacks are not the be all and end all of DL production

the national media don't keep a stat for "double teams beaten" but perhaps they should...

the only stats anyone should really be interested in is how well do the coaches grade this player? obviously the JETS CS will have most extensive grades but all CS give at least cursory grades to opposing players.

these stats aren't made public but if you read between the lines, DRob has some of the highest grades week in and week out out of all the DT in the NFL.

don't worry about his 3rd year the JETS have him under a 7 year deal -

with this sexy pose (look below) the man is no bust

But seriously, he's not measured by sacks and he proved that he is far from a bust this year. But my prediction, even though i LOVE dewaynne, 5 sacks.
