Hey everyone, I live in the Balt/DC area and George Michael from George Michael's Sports Machine just came on and said that he's been following this story all day long and that it is not dead and that all parties are working diligently to get it completed by maybe tonight. Just thought i'd pass the info along.

I'm not sure if I would trust this source... Could just be another rumor. I really wouldn't mind whether we land Coles or not.

I wouldn't trust a guy named George Michael in a public bathroom and I wouldn't trust him for my sports news either.

Take it for what it's worth. I'm just reporting what i saw on t.v. George Michael is kinda like pro football weekly, he's usually more right than wrong on his rumors. I think the Jets will try to renegotiate Coles' deal and give him a bit more so that he agrees to the trade. that's my personal opinion.

Last night on sportscenter, clayton said if there was going to be a deal, it would get done tonight.

i guess we'll find out soon if it'll happen or not. i think it could still happen, but the chances probably aren't good.

This very well may be true, look at this part of an E-mail I just received from Randy Lange:

"I'm hearing the Moss-Coles talks were back on last night and today.
    Nothing
imminent but it's not dead yet, just moving along at a slow pace while
    the
Redskins sort out their issues, as usual."

    Here's the whole E-mail:

    Steve:

No problem. I can't always respond to every email but that's why we put
    the
addresses on the bottoms of our stories.

I meant only that Moss might be disgruntled because there was a lot of
    talk
about why the Jets would want to unload him and now he's back on the
    roster
so he might not feel loved. But I don't think Santana has a problem
    with his
money situation. He knows he'll get a big payday in at least a year,
    maybe
sooner if they do a trade.

Coles I understand a little better. He seems to be the NFL's Angry
    young man
these days, but I've been told his immediate concern is he doesn't want
    to
give up any money that has been guaranteed to him, and I wouldn't
    either.
That's what we're always told, that the only money a player can count
    on is
the guaranteed money and maybe that first-year base salary. The 'Skins
wanted him to give back that $5 million roster bonus due April 1, but
    that's
part of the original guaranteed money that Coles got when the 'Skins
    signed
him to that RFA offer sheet. So if he's giving that back, he's going to
    want
to get it back from the Jets or whoever he's traded to. To me that's
reasonable. Him wanting to redo his entire deal with his new team,
    that's
    not reasonable at this moment.

I'm hearing the Moss-Coles talks were back on last night and today.
    Nothing
imminent but it's not dead yet, just moving along at a slow pace while
    the
Redskins sort out their issues, as usual.

Unless this rookie with 2 posts has a link or some corroboration he's going to have a tough job convincing the group here. Did anyone else hear this?

    I haven't.
